The Hands of an Angel

Gang warfare is erupting in Toronto, Canada. The street market is ripe and border security lax: a drug trafficker’s dream. Competition is fierce however and greed is running strong. It’s Mafia versus Yakuza, and there will be blood. The encroaching Yakuza is not the established Mafia’s only concern however. The very nature of organized crime in the digital age is evolving. A virtual underground network is changing how contracts are set. Need an anonymous killer? Name your target and post your terms. If you don’t update your business model, your criminal empire may be left behind. But what happens when one of these anonymous agents displays a conscience? Who is the arrogant killer that only hits dirty targets: a vigilante, an undercover cop, or something else entirely? Anonymity breeds loyalty to no one. One thing is clear: this assassin is extremely effective. Against this backdrop of gang violence, two investigating officers trace an unlikely connection between the mysterious assassin and three young women whose bond of friendship was shattered years ago.
